Love, a subject many write on, many try to find, and many hate. Love is at times to be considered unattainable, a myth of some sort. Well, whether or not you can attain it, here is my theory on what it is. Or what I think it is meant to be.
Love by defination is a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties, according to Webster's dictionary online. But I feel there is more to it. Family love is special, not counting those sad occourances where one has decided they hate a certain family member. With family love you have something unconditional. It doesn't go away just because one happens to make a mistake. You love the relative despite their faults and are there for them. You inspire them to better themselves and be the best that they can be. At least this is what I feel a family love should be. Of course you are going to get mad at family member, and people in general for that matter. But the love just doesn't go away. To explain this more, I have to go into what love is in general.
Love is about respect, you respect the person for who they are and do not try to make them something they aren't. Love is about honesty, if you constantly lie to someone how are they supposed to trust you? How are they supposed to know who you are, therefore how are they supposed to respect you? Love is about helping one another. Someone you care about is in need, you help them out. Not because society tells you its good to do, and not because you get something out of it. You help them because you want that person to be alright. Because you care for them. To recieve love, you have to give love. You have to build a relationship with someone, and show them respect, show them honesty, and help them out; be kind to them. In return they will appreciate it, and do the same. Thus forming love.
I am probably not hitting this love thing right on the nose, but I do feel that I am in close proximity to it. I have had false love, and felt family love. I have genuine love for friends of mine as well. All of this that I have wrote, I wrote out of my life experiences. I'm not sure why I decided to write this, but here it is. Here for the world to read. Maybe you can take this text and be inspired to form your own thoughts on the subject. Or to go out and show the world what real love is. I could write forever on this topic, going off onto what a family should be, how to show respect, why you should be truthful, or why this world could use more love. But that writing would become a book and it is not time for me to write a book. Just a moderatly short theory on love.
